About our Pizza

Nino's Deluxe Pizza

We offer authentic New York Style pizza and Sicilian style too. Our ovens are originally from New York, having spent 13 years in Brooklyn before moving to Florida for another 17 or so and then coming to us. New Yorkers know, the oven makes a big difference!

Its not just the ovens that make our pizza tasty, its Chef and Owner, Ambrogio Buraglia's nearly 20 years of experience that makes Nino's Pizza so delicious. Ambrogio is the only one who knows the secret recipe for the dough and the sauce, the two most important ingredients in any pizza.

About the Owner

Gaetano, Ambrogio and Isabella
Ambrogio (middle) with his son Gaetano (left) and daughter Isabella (right).

Chef and Owner, Ambrogio Buraglia, was born in Brooklyn, New York to parents Gaetano and Agnese Buraglia. He spent most of his youth in New York and some of it in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When he was about 11 years old, his parents decided to move to California. It wasn't very long before his parents opened Villa Agnese Italian Restaurant opened in La Habra, California.

Mario, Gaetano and Ambrogio
Ambrogio (right) and Mario (left) learning from their father Gaetano (center).

From a very early age, Gaetano taught his sons the art of Italian cuisine, grooming them to be restaurateurs some day. Gaetano dreamt that one day, Ambrogio would have a pizzeria of his own and that his eldest son Mario would take over Villa Agnese. Today, Mario runs Gaetano's Italian Restaurant (formerly called Villa Agnese) in La Habra, California fulfilling the dream of his father.

Gaetano 'Nino' Buraglia (1942-1997)
Nino's Pizza was named in honor of the late Gaetano "Nino" Buraglia. (1942-1997)

Nearly 10 1/2 years after his father's death, Ambrogio is finally living his father's dream for him with the opening of Nino's Pizza in Austin, Texas. Named after his father, Gaetano "Nino" Buraglia, Ambrogio offers pizza, calzones, oven-baked subs, pasta, salads and desserts.

Ambrogio's mother's family also has a history of running pizzerias and restaurants, so it was bound to be his turn sooner or later...
